General information
The electronic waste category includes all types of computers and computer equipment (keyboards, mice), monitors, printers, cartridges, toners, scanners, mobile phones, cameras, TVs, video and audio devices, etc.
All large devices are considered electrical waste, i.e. refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, dryers, water heaters, air conditioning devices, and other household appliances. This category also includes switches and components of machines that are used in the industry.
Electrical and electronic equipment that individuals and legal entities want to dispose of, because it is not functioning or is obsolete, is considered waste and should be handed over to an authorized recycler.
Due to the rapid technological development and short lifespan of devices, in the recent years electronic and electrical waste represent a large percentage of the total waste on a worldwide level. Therefore, the way it is handled is exceptionally important.
Most electronic and electrical devices contain hazardous substances such as mercury, freon, and arsenic that are harmful for the environment (water, soil, air) which directly affect human and animal health.
In order to reduce the risk of environmental pollution and eliminate the negative impact on our health, electronic and electrical devices should be properly recycled, i.e. not to be dumped in the municipal waste, but to be handed over to a company authorized to recycle EE-waste. Ekocentar 97 will make sure your equipment is properly sorted and recycled, making your old and nonfunctioning device a resource for the future.
Legal entities
With the adoption of the “Law on Management of Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment” legal entities have a legal obligation to hand over their waste electrical and electronic equipment to an authorized company (recycler) which will further act in accordance with the positive legal regulations and rulebooks. Ekocentar 97 has specialized vehicles to collect such waste equipment from the companies, for which it issues appropriate documentation as a proof for the further treatment of the waste equipment, such as: consignment note, identification form, transport form, statement from the official gazette, receiving form and weighbridge scale ticket. This service is performed free of charge, in accordance with the legal regulations and without the right to claim a compensation for the waste equipment.
